A lot of people don't really know the benefits of burning a candle when praying. They think that this is just a normal practice which does not have any meaning behind it. But the truth is it does have a meaning.

When we pray there has to be light in order to bring our ancestors forward. According to our culture burning a candle and Mpepho is the only way ancestors will hear us out. Besides that it is useless to pray. Same as in churches candles are lighten up to bring all the dead spirits forward.
